We are excited to start the 2024 Tennis season. Below you will find all the information about our upcoming season. We are excited to introduce our two coaches and will be having a tennis meet and greet on Sunday, June 2nd at 1pm at the club. Feel free to drop by to say hi.

Hello! I am super excited to be coaching at KSTC this summer. I have played on the KSTC tennis team for many years and have been super grateful to have a lot of fun and make new friends! I graduated from Kentwood High School where I played on the Varsity tennis team and I am currently on the Western Washington University club tennis team where I just finished my sophomore year of my undergrad. This year my main goal is to make tennis really fun! Games will be engaging and we will have a good time growing together as a team. I also plan on working on skills and helping players grow throughout the summer. I can’t wait to meet you all and start playing. Go KENT!

I am thrilled to be returning as the assistant coach for this season to share my experience and love for the sport of tennis. KSTC tennis is all about having fun while learning skills to improve your game. Looking forward to seeing you on the courts!
Tennis Team:
Registration is now open!
We will be playing matches against Arbor Heights, Gregory Seahurst, and Olympic View. In order for your child to participate in matches, there will be an assessment by the coaches to determine if they meet the requirements e.g. able to serve on their own. However, do not let this deter your child from joining the team as we will also be having inter-squad matches. Our goal is to continue building foundational skills early and the positive experiences of being cheered on by teammates as they improve their backhand or master their volley will continue to build their self-confidence in the sport.
The cost for tennis team will be $130 per player plus a ball fee of $10 per family and this fee includes a team shirt. Once registered I will be reaching out to obtain the shirt size needed for your player or players. If you have 3 or more players in your family, you will see a discount for each additional player after the first 2.
Practice schedules are:
Pre-Season June 17th – June 21rd M – Th
4:30pm – 5:30 pm Ages 13 and up (All Levels)
5:30pm – 6:30 pm Ages 12 and under (All Levels)
Regular Season: June 24th – July 18th M – Th (Except for Tues. July 4th)
7:30-8:30am – All Ages Advanced**
8:30-9:30am – Ages 13 and up
9:30-10:30am – Ages 9 – 12
10:30-11:30am – Ages 8 and under
** Skills and groupings will be solidified the first week of practice June 24th – June 28th
In order to sign up for Tennis team, you must first be logged into the KSTC website hosted on Membersplash https://kentswimandtennisclub.org/ Once signed in navigate to Activities -> Tennis Team -> Registration or click here: Tennis Team – Kent Swim and Tennis Club
Signups will remain open through June 16th.
Tennis Lessons:
As in years’ past KSTC scheduled lessons will be offered in a group setting through KSTC and will be held M-Th after Tennis team practice from:
12:00pm – 12:55pm Intermediate/Advanced
1:00pm – 1:55pm Beginner/Intermediate
We will have 2 sessions. The sessions run for 2 weeks.
Session 1: June 24th – July 5th (no lesson on July 4th)
Session 2: July 8th – July 18th
The cost for owners will be $75/child per session and $100 for non-owners.
You can sign up for lessons by calling the office or registering online Tennis Lessons – Kent Swim and Tennis Club.
Private lessons:
The coaches have both indicated that they are available for private lessons. Private lessons will be held after team practices and group lessons. Non-owners must pay a guest fee of $8.00 to KSTC and may only use the club with the coaches present.
